In our dynamic environment, fueled by technology and innovation, our people have the space to pioneer new solutions./ppJoin our global community of over 200,000 dedicated employees around the world in driving the transformation of the eyewear and eyecare industry. a href=https://www.linkedin.com/company/essilorluxottica/posts/?feedView=allDiscover more by following us on LinkedIn!/a/ppstrongGENERAL FUNCTION/strongbr The Maintenance Technician / Millwright is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment in an optical lens manufacturing environment, focusing on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime./ppstrongMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/pulliPerform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and repairs on machinery and equipment as per established schedules./liliAccurately document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as SAP./liliTroubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing solutions./liliCommunicate maintenance activities to team members and production staff to ensure smooth shift handovers./liliCollaborate with equipment manufacturers and vendors for technical support and parts procurement./liliEvaluate Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities and recommend improvements to optimize schedules and enhance equipment reliability./liliAnalyze equipment failure data to identify trends and implement preventive measures./liliInstall, remove, and relocate equipment, ensuring safe rigging and lifting practices./liliAdjust and calibrate machinery to meet precise specifications./liliTrain other personnel on PM procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and equipment safety./liliMaintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety policies, including proper PPE usage./liliContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and a positive work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongBASIC QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliValid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license or 442A Industrial Electrician license in Ontario./liliAt least 4 years of experience as a licensed Maintenance Technician in an industrial/manufacturing environment./liliProficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems./liliAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and ladder logic diagrams./liliProficiency with Microsoft Office suite and CMMS software (preferably SAP)./li/ulpstrongPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliExperience in an optical lens manufacturing environments./liliExperience in automation integration, PLC programming, and troubleshooting./liliFormal training in root cause analysis (RCA) or other problem-solving methodologies./liliStrict adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and machine safeguarding./liliStrong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and proactively address maintenance issues and improvements./li/ulpstrongPHYSICAL DEMANDS/strong/pulliAbility to lift up to 50 lbps/liliAbility to work in various physical positions, including standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching./liliAbility to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying temperatures based on the manufacturing area./li/ulpstrongWORKING CONDITIONS/strong/pulliProduction plant environment with exposure to industrial machinery and equipment./liliMay require shift work, including afternoon, nights and weekends./liliOvertime opportunities available./li/ulpThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
