We’ve expanded that passion to Surgical Clinics where we can provide even more specialty eye care and services in the neighborhoods we serve./ppThis role leads and supports a team of technicians to ensure high-quality and efficient surgical operations. It combines leadership with hands-on clinical duties, including staff training, surgical preparation, and patient care oversight. The position ensures consistent excellence in ophthalmic procedures across multiple surgical centers. On non-surgery days, the team member supports general preparation, administration, and other assigned duties within the Clinic./ppstrongMAJOR DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/pulliLeads and supports a team of technicians, ensuring high performance, consistency, and adherence to clinical and sterile standards./liliMaintains knowledge of the responsibilities and technical skills of the technician team; coaches and develops members as needed./liliProvides hands-on training, mentorship, and skill development for Technicians within their location and nearby centers to ensure best practices and clinical excellence./liliChecks supplies and equipment for surgical procedures and ensures all regional centers properly manage their stock./liliReviews charts pre-op for consent, Hamp;P, relevant medical/surgical/ocular/contact lens histories, and documentation of pre-op medications and allergies./liliReviews charts post-op for intraoperative record accuracy, medications, follow-up schedules, and discharge instructions./liliSupports medical and pre-/post-op patient care on non-surgery days./liliOversees and occasionally performs:/liliPreparing and maintaining sterile fields, instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.br • Verifying surgical plans, implants, and instruments with the surgeon and clinical director.br • Assisting surgical team with gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments using strict sterile technique.br • Monitoring patient ID, positioning, and physiological status during procedures to ensure safety and comfort.br • Observing for adverse reactions to medications or anesthesia and reporting concerns promptly.br • Supporting safe patient transport between pre-op, OR, and post-op areas.br • Cleaning, sterilizing, restocking instruments and equipment; assisting with OR turnover.br • Ensuring compliance with infection control, aseptic technique, and safety standards./li/ulpstrongBASIC QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliRelevant experience in a medical, surgical, or optical environment/liliHigh School graduate or equivalent/liliStrong basic math skills/liliMust have a strong command of the English language for all written correspondence amp; oral communication/liliCommitted team player/liliDedication to detail and process/liliProven ability to problem solve/li/ulpstrongPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliRelevant medical or surgical certifications/degrees/liliStrong knowledge of basic optics/liliState licensure (if applicable)/liliCertified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) amp;/or Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE)/liliBLS (Basic Life Support) certification/li/ulp /ppThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
