This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, amp; repair of specialized instruments used in medical amp; laboratory settings./ppThe technician will provide both technical expertise amp; customer support, ensuring equipment meets performance specifications amp; quality standards. This role also involves maintaining comprehensive service documentation amp; supporting compliance with internal procedures amp; regulatory requirements./ppstrongMAJOR DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/pulliPerform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) amp; calibration on a wide range of ophthalmic amp; finishing instruments, including phoropters, slit lamps, autorefractors, amp; lens edgers./liliDiagnose, troubleshoot, amp; repair mechanical amp; electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime amp; maintain customer satisfaction./liliExecute all calibration amp; service procedures in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturer specifications, amp; applicable regulatory requirements/liliMaintain complete amp; accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, calibrations, amp; equipment history within the company’s service management system./liliCollaborate with external vendors or specialized service partners for complex repairs, parts sourcing, or advanced diagnostics when necessary./liliManage amp; maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, test equipment, amp; maintenance supplies to ensure operational readiness./liliSupport internal amp; external customers by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting assistance, amp; product support via phone, email, or video./liliParticipate in incoming inspection amp; testing of new or refurbished equipment prior to release or shipment./liliAssist in the evaluation amp; implementation of process improvements to enhance service efficiency, quality, amp; safety./liliAdhere to all company safety policies amp; regulatory requirements when handling tools, electrical systems, amp; optical instruments./liliContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the service department, supporting team goals amp; knowledge sharing./li/ulpstrongBASIC QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliAssociate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Technology, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent hands-on training amp; experience in equipment repair./liliMinimum 3–5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, calibration, or technical support roles./liliProven proficiency in reading amp; interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, amp; schematics./liliStrong mechanical amp; electrical troubleshooting capabilities, including familiarity with diagnostic tools amp; multimeters./liliBasic computer literacy, including experience documenting service work electronically./liliStrong communication amp; interpersonal skills, with a focus on professionalism amp; customer service./liliAbility to lift amp; move equipment (up to 50 lbs) amp; perform physically demanding installations./li/ulpstrongPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliExperience working within the optical, ophthalmic, or healthcare device industries./liliHands-on experience servicing ophthalmic instruments or lens finishing systems./li/ulp /ppPay Range: 23.75 - 36.78 /ppThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
