Together, we provide operational excellence to eyecare professionals with an aim to be the leading eye care provider in our community./ppstrongGENERAL FUNCTION /strong/ppUnder the guidance of the doctor, the Vision Therapy Technician will provide visual therapy techniques and rehabilitation services to patients with binocular vision difficulties. Assist the doctor in assessing a patients needs and create a treatment or rehab plan based on guidance from the doctor./pp /ppstrongMAJOR DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/pulliComplete diagnostic testing on patients to include optometry equipment and perceptual testing as needed per doctor authorization./liliDocument therapy sessions and plan exercises for future visits based on guidance from the doctor./liliExplain therapy expectations with parents, doctors, and patients to successfully plan sessions./liliFacilitate therapy session with patients in accordance with guidance from the doctor./liliTeach patients (and/or parents/guardians) the activities that either develop or improve a visual skill and visual processing.ulliWork one on one with individuals to improve visual function using non-surgical activities./liliDemonstrate exercises to help a patient regain eye function after a surgical or non-surgical procedure./liliProvide home activities and feedback to patients (and/or parents/guardians) at the end of each session./li/ul/liliCollect and document patient results./liliSchedule future appointments with patients./liliCommunicate patient information to doctor./liliMaintain a clean, organized, and fun environment for therapy to take place./liliOther duties assigned./li/ulp /ppstrongBASIC QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/lili2+ years of office experience in a healthcare setting/liliMust be willing and able to study and learn how to become a vision therapy technician/liliStrong communication skills (verbal, written, listening, presentation) with ability to exercise patience and connect with children/liliSelf-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multitask/liliProven ability to identify issues and solve problems/liliFamiliarity with exam software and optometric equipment/li/ulp /ppstrongPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliCertified Optometric Vision Therapist (COVT)/liliPrevious experience working with children/liliPrevious experience in vision therapy, occupational therapy, child development, psychology or other medical rehabilitation field/liliPrevious experience in teaching, education, and special education/liliExperience working in multiple doctor practices/li/ulpThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
