Primary responsibility is the daily operation and maintenance of the large-capacity AR coating machines and final quality inspection of outgoing lenses. The Sr Production Technician will be responsible for adhering to the company’s quality and safety requirements during all operations./pp /ppstrongMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/pulliOperate large-capacity AR coating machines.  Perform daily and weekly maintenance of the vacuum coating chambers and equipment involved in the AR coating process.  Keep a current and accurate log of all processes and maintenance for the machines./liliPerform all aspects of operation of the AR Coaters, including:/liliClean machine and make ready for operation. /liliInspect each lens for accuracy and any other defects present on lens surface. Log all scratches or other conditions found. /liliPlace lenses into appropriate tooling based on lens diameter and shape. /liliLoad lenses into AR coating machine and select correct recipe and chemicals for each different AR coating process.  /liliPerform all necessary parts change-outs and other maintenance items in a timely manner. /liliPerform necessary quality testing on finished product. /liliPerform final inspection on all batch coated lenses and ensure adherence to the cosmetic standards. Verify performance of coating runs and ensure coating meets desired specification.   /liliPerform troubleshooting of machine/equipment problems and work with supervisor to resolve issues. /liliPack completed work. /liliReview rejected lenses and re-work or assign proper breakage codes. /liliSandblast machine parts as needed. /liliFollow standard procedures while continually evaluating opportunities for improvement.  Provide recommendations to improve processes to simplify jobs, eliminate non-value-added tasks and reduce costs.   /liliEffectively communicate with all levels of the organization to ensure understanding and the proper application of company policies, practices and procedures. /liliActively participate and engage in continuous improvement processes/liliMaintain work area and common areas of department in a neat, clean, and organized condition./liliUnderstand and follow all company and manufacturer’s policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all attendance amp; safety rules and regulations.  Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and HIPAA protected information.  /liliWillingly assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines or maintain an even workload.  Cooperate with other employees and demonstrate a good attitude.  Perform an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time as required.  /liliProvide proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees.  Attends in-house or sponsored training meetings when necessary./liliPerform other duties as assigned.  /liliThis position requires exposure to one or more hazardous substances/chemicals which requires safety training./li/ulp /ppstrongBASIC QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience/lili3+ years of manufacturing experience/liliAbility to multi-task, orient to detail and operate in a fast-paced environment/liliAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and lift up to 15 pounds above head. /liliSpecific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision. /li/ulp /ppPay Range: $20.75 per hour/ppThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
