Description

The Accounting Manager leads the organization's accounting operations, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial records while delivering timely, high-quality financial information to support business decisions. This role combines operational excellence with strong governance, driving efficient financial close processes, robust internal controls, and continuous improvement across the accounting function.

Acting as a trusted business partner, the Accounting Manager collaborates closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure financial transparency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business performance.

The role is based in our HQ in Rome.

Les missions

Accounting Operations & Financial Close

  • Lead and oversee all accounting activities, including account payable, account receivable, inventory, intercompany, account reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end close.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely recognition of revenues, expenses, accruals, and provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data quality.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial records through effective governance and process discipline.

Financial Reporting & Business Support

  • Provide insightful financial analysis, variance reporting, and performance commentary to support executive decision-making.
  • Partner with FP&A; and business leaders in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing reliable financial data, projections, and business insights.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously strengthen the internal control framework to safeguard company assets and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities, ensuring the timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of corrective actions.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and high-performance execution.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the finance function through process optimization, digitalization, and best-practice adoption.

Profil

Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar management position within an international group, preferably in luxury retail. For new joiners for this role in Italy, the annual gross salary associated with this position is EUR 65.000.

This is only the initial annual gross salary granted to this position. This figure has been determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria and reflects the starting salary normally applicable to the position at the time of publication of this job posting. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current organizational needs.

This role is also eligible for bonuses, subject to Fendi's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance. On top of legal benefits, further benefits are provided in accordance with current company policies.

This position is subject to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement (CCNL Commercio) applicable to the role and applied by Fendi in Italy".
