Description

The Senior Manager, Demand & Distribution Planning is a strategic leadership role responsible for owning end-to-end demand and inventory planning for all geographies within the Fendi Americas retail and e-commerce network.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this role serves as a key business partner to Merchandising, Retail, Finance, Logistics, and Central Supply Chain, driving profitable growth through accurate forecasting, optimized inventory positioning, and agile response to market opportunities and risks.

The Senior Manager is accountable for translating commercial strategy into actionable demand, inventory, and distribution plans, while continuously elevating planning processes, tools, and decision-making rigor across the organization.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Demand & Inventory Leadership

  • Own and lead monthly, quarterly, and seasonal demand planning across categories, channels, and geographies, ensuring alignment with commercial and financial objectives.
  • Develop and refine forecasting methodologies by integrating historical performance, demand drivers, and market intelligence.
  • Provide forward-looking insights on demand risks and opportunities, recommending actionable mitigation and upside strategies to senior leadership.

Business Planning & Financial Ownership

  • Lead seasonal sales planning and Open-To-Buy (OTB) in close partnership with Merchandising, Finance, and Central Supply Chain.
  • Ensure alignment between financial targets, buys, and operational forecasts through top-down and bottom-up planning cycles.
  • Deliver quarterly and seasonal hindsight analyses to influence future assortments, investments, and category strategies.

Inventory Optimization & Distribution Strategy

  • Define and oversee inventory strategies across core, fashion, launches, and phase-outs, balancing availability, freshness, and working capital.
  • Own allocation and re-allocation across retail and e-commerce, optimizing product flow by store profile, launch phase, and demand signals.
  • Partner with Logistics and Warehouse teams to manage shipping priorities, resolve inventory constraints, and support critical business initiatives, including Outlet and Off-price strategies.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a senior planning partner to Merchandising, Retail, and Country teams, leading regular business reviews focused on performance and actions.
  • Influence Director and VP-level decision-making through clear, data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Support network evolution initiatives (store openings, closures, renovations, channel shifts) with demand and inventory impact assessments.
  • Coach, develop and manage the performance of one intern, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous learning within the planning team.

  • Own the evolution of planning tools, reporting, and governance to improve scalability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across forecasting and planning processes.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and mentor, elevating planning standards and analytical capabilities across the organization.

Required Experience, Skills & Attributes

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, allocation, buying, or retail analytics within a luxury or premium retail/wholesale environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, with a proven track record of influencing business outcomes.
  • Strong command of retail and supply chain economics, including margin, markup, sell-through, inventory turns, and productivity metrics.
  • Advanced analytical capability with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executive-ready insights.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel and strong experience building presentations and narratives in PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Demand Planning tools); Power BI proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership.
  • Highly organized, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward action and results.

The compensation for this position ranges from $140,000-150,000 annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
