Manager, Human Resources

What you’ll do
The Manager, Human Resources is responsible for delivering end‑to‑end HR support for our Venlo campus, acting as a trusted partner to local leadership while ensuring compliant, efficient, and people‑focused HR support. The role balances hands‑on HR execution with advisory and people leadership responsibilities, ensuring alignment with company strategy, Dutch labor law, the Works Councils Act (WOR), and Global HR frameworks. As our Manager, Human Resources, you’ll be the architect of our people experience. You’ll shape policies and programs that don’t just meet compliance standards—they actively foster trust, collaboration, and most importantly, joy at work. 

  • Act as a strategic and operational HR partner to local management, providing guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support leaders with coaching and advice across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development, performance improvement, and exits.
  • Champion and actively model a positive, inclusive workplace culture by partnering with leaders and employees to drive engagement initiatives, promote recognition, and reinforce company values—ensuring employees feel valued, connected, and inspired in their day-to-day experience.
  • Manage employee relations cases (e.g. absenteeism, performance, disciplinary matters, grievances) in accordance with Dutch legislation and internal procedures.
  • Drive performance management cycles, providing guidance to leaders on goal‑setting, evaluations, and development planning.
  • Contribute to succession planning and talent development initiatives at site aligned to global standards.
  • Act as a primary HR point of contact for the Works Council for people‑related topics, (e.g. policy changes impacting working conditions, absenteeism procedures, or reward structures) ensuring timely information, consultation, and follow‑up.
  • Liaise with external parties (e.g. occupational health services, legal advisors) in line with company and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all HR practices are compliant with local legislation, works council requirements, and collective labor agreements (where applicable).
  • Support recruitment activities in partnership with Talent Acquisition, including role scoping, interview participation, and hiring manager readiness.
  • Oversee accurate and timely execution of HR administration, including contracts, amendments, probation tracking, leave of absence management, and employee records.
  • Ensure data integrity in HR systems and support payroll validation in close collaboration with payroll providers and Finance.
  • Lead and develop a local HR team (e.g., HR Advisors / Administrators), ensuring clear priorities, coaching, and high performance.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaged, and professional HR team culture focused on service excellence and trust.
  • Work closely with Global HR Centers of Expertise (e.g., Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to implement global programs locally.
  • Support global HR initiatives and change programs, as required.


You’ll Need to Have

  • Minimum 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an distribution center environment.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Dutch labor law, employee relations, and HR operations.
  • Proven HR experience in the Netherlands, within a matrix and/or global organization
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Dutch labor law
    • Works Councils Act (WOR)
    • Absenteeism and working‑conditions regulations
  • Experience supporting Works Council consultations and consent processes
  • Credible, balanced communication style with management and employee representatives
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • Experience supporting managers in complex operational or corporate environments; distribution, logistics, experience is a plus.

  • Strong advisory, coaching, and influencing skills
  • Excellent organizational and stakeholder management abilities
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands‑on
  • Experience supporting managers in complex operational or corporate environments; distribution, logistics, experience is a plus.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
