About The Role: 

This role is responsible for driving sales planning, inventory management, pricing strategy, and sales action planning across Michael Kors' e-commerce business in Japan. You will manage sales, inventory, and gross margin across multiple channels — including owned EC, Outlet, and EC malls — while collaborating closely with MD, Retail, BP&A, Digital Marketing, and Logistics to maximize sales and improve inventory efficiency. We welcome candidates with direct e-commerce experience, as well as those from retail, apparel, fashion, or consumer goods backgrounds in sales management, inventory management, MD Planning, business planning, FP&A, or Demand Planning. 

 

What You’ll Do:  

1. Sales Planning & Forecast / Action Planning 

  • Create and manage weekly and monthly sales forecasts across EC channels 
  • Propose focus categories and key products based on sales and inventory performance 
  • Report on sales status and action plans to BP&A (Business Planning & Analysis) 
  • Collaborating with Digital Marketing on email, app, advertising, and site exposure strategies 

 

2. Inventory Planning & Management 

  • Develop seasonal EC sales plans and inventory plans 

  • Arrange inventory based on inventory plans 

  • Determine product launch timing for owned EC and EC malls 

  • Manage EC inventory sell-through 

  • Build and improve inventory accuracy processes 

 

3. Pricing & Margin Management 

  • Develop and execute OFF rate and pricing strategies to drive sell-through and sales targets 

  • Design and implement pricing strategies to maximize AUR and GM 

  • Execute inventory optimization in collaboration with BP&A, MD, and Retail 

  • Ensure price consistency across stores, EC, and malls 

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with MD, Retail, BP&A, Finance, Digital Marketing, and Logistics 

  • Manage internal alignment on product, inventory, pricing, and sales outlook 

  • Create meeting materials, analysis reports, and ad-hoc reporting as needed 

  • Lead cross-functional projects to drive EC sales performance 

 

5. Reporting & Process Standardization 

  • Operate and maintain dashboards visualizing sales, inventory, margin, and markdown 

  • Standardize weekly forecast, inventory risk, and sales analysis reporting 

  • Reduce ad-hoc decision-making and build reproducible team processes 

 

 

What You’ll Bring:  

We’re looking for someone with the following experience and skills — but these aren’t set in stone. If you bring something extra to the table, we’d love to hear from you! 

  • Experience in sales management, inventory management, or business management in retail, apparel, fashion, FMCG, or e-commerce 

  • Experience in MD, Merchandising Planning, Allocation, Demand Planning, Sales Planning, FP&A, or Business Planning 

  • Experience in sales, inventory, and gross margin analysis using Excel or similar tools 

  • Experience collaborating across multiple departments to identify issues and propose solutions based on data 

  • Ability to assess challenges in sales planning from the perspective of inventory, pricing, and product assortment 

 

We’d Love to See:  

  • Experience in e-commerce, EC malls, or owned site operations 

  • Experience managing sales and inventory for Outlet, Sale, or Markdown products 

  • Experience in apparel, bags, accessories, or luxury goods 

  • Cross-functional experience with MD, Retail, Finance, or Marketing 

  • Experience with pricing and markdown strategies using AUR, GM, COGS, and OFF rate 

  • Experience with BI tools, dashboards, or reporting tools 

  • Business-level English proficiency

  • Thinks beyond EC to consider store operations and company-wide inventory strategy
