Role Overview
We are seeking an innovative, agile and experienced Warehouse management leader passionate about developing their team and providing excellent service to both their internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record of optimizing warehouse processes, managing a team, and ensuring the accurate and timely movement of goods to support manufacturing production and customer delivery. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, analytical, energetic, and well-organized, demonstrating a passion for people’s development and continuous improvement.
Les missions
iOperations Management:
- Plan, organize, direct, and control all warehouse activities to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize material flow, inventory accuracy, and storage utilization.
- Oversee the receiving, inspection, labeling, and storage of all incoming materials and components.
- Manage the picking, packing, and staging of materials for production lines and finished goods.
- Establish timely and accurate loading/unloading of trucks, coordinating with carriers and logistics providers.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain physical conditions applying 5S methods, layout, and design to ensure maximum space utilization and efficiency.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage warehouse optimization projects, (space utilization studies, layout redesigns, and innovative warehousing techniques).
- Develop project plans, define scope, allocate resources, and establish timelines for initiatives.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis for new technology and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and integration.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on time and in budget delivery.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented projects and make recommendations.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory control systems, (cycle counting and physical inventories), to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement and production planning to prevent stockouts and optimize inventory turns.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and optimize storage locations.
- Complete and verify material audits with accurate results and support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and material control.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of forklift operators, material handlers, and shipping/receiving clerks.
- Set clear performance objectives, conduct reviews, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Conduct one-on-one reviews to build effective communication, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for skill improvement.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of KPIs and ensure team accountability to meet performance targets.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Continuously analyze warehouse operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and service levels.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices, (5S and Six Sigma), within the warehouse.
- Drive initiatives to improve material handling, storage density, and overall productivity.
- Utilize data and metrics to track performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Safety and Compliance:
- Immediately resolve work issues and/or safety concerns.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, including OSHA and company-specific safety policies, ensuring they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions.
Profil
5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse management within a manufacturing or production environment. Minimum 3 years of experience with Inventory Maintenance & Manufacturing processes and standards. Proven experience managing and leading a team of warehouse team Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, including cycle counting, physical inventory, and inventory optimization. Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Advanced MS Office applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel) are vital. Power BI and Power Query experience an asset Strong quantitative analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma) Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA) and best practices Capable of attaining and holding certification on forklift and reach trucksInformations complémentaires
