As Senior HR Manager Northern Europe, you will join the EMEA Retail HR team, supporting our stores across France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.

You will bring strong HR generalist expertise and solid knowledge of France, including employee relations, employment law, payroll oversight and HR operations. With a hands-on approach and strong business partnering skills, you will build trusted relationships quickly, support leaders effectively, and drive people initiatives that enable business success.

This role, which is fixed-term to cover a maternity leave, is key within the business, partnering closely with leaders and teams to deliver a broad and complex HR agenda in a fast-paced retail environment.

Les missions

Your role will be:

  • Act as a trusted HR Business Partner to managers and employees across the region.
  • Provide expert guidance and hands-on support on employee relations matters.
  • Coach and support line managers on people matters, performance management and team effectiveness.
  • Manage complex HR issues in line with local legislation, internal policy and business needs.
  • Draft disciplinary, grievance and other employee relations documentation where required.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel where appropriate.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices remain aligned with legislative developments and internal standards.
  • Lead and support the annual salary review process and bonus cycle in partnership with the HR Director and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support compensation benchmarking and benefits review activity across the countries in scope.
  • Manage headcount and salary budgets, ensuring accurate reporting and alignment with agreed plans.
  • Partner with business leaders to manage headcount in line with budgets and organisational needs.
  • Oversee payroll coordination with local providers or internal teams to ensure accurate processing.
  • Ensure HR data integrity across HR systems and monthly reporting.
  • Lead and support ad hoc HR projects as required.
  • Provide line management support within the HR team.

Profil

What is important for the role: Significant HR generalist experience, ideally 10+ years, at Senior HR Manager or HR Business Partner level. Strong HR working knowledge of France is essential. Experience managing employee relations issues in a complex, fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of compensation processes, payroll oversight, budgeting and HR reporting. Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple countries. Strong communication, influencing and organisational skills. Fluent French and English are required.
