Join our global community of over 200,000 dedicated employees around the world in driving the transformation of the eyewear and eyecare industry. a href=https://www.linkedin.com/company/essilorluxottica/posts/?feedView=allDiscover more by following us on LinkedIn!/a/ppstrongGENERAL FUNCTION/strong/ppThe Production Technician is responsible for the set-up, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned area for work task/job in surface or finish portions of lab production./pp /ppstrongMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/pulliPerform all aspects of laboratory production within the assigned area, including the following:/liliProper, efficient, and productive use of Lensometer instrument for purposes of lens product inspection respective of basic lens power requirements/liliAbility to perform equipment maintenance including but not limited to wheel amp; motor/spindle change./liliAbility to interpret “Special Rx’s” and with assistance from the supervisor/liliTranslate Rx requirement into finished product commensurate with production area./liliAssist supervisor in maintaining and managing shop supply inventories./liliAbility to troubleshoot production problems leading to unacceptable spoilage, production slowdowns, and sub-par product quality/service. Advise supervisor of potential issues and offer possible solutions./lili /liliPrepare all solutions for the wash process (when applicable). Make sure daily supplies are stocked./liliBased on the area of assignment, the Production Technician will be also responsible for specific tasks:/liliInterpretation of Rx work ticket/liliPerform production operations on specified equipment following established procedures./liliPerform basic/routine maintenance of assigned equipment./liliAbility to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and advise supervisor on possible remedy./liliSpecific tasks include but not be limited to:/liliLens wash amp; surface/cosmetic inspection./liliTool Cutting and selection/replacement./liliEquipment set up for daily production in accordance with UPS./liliPerform daily, weekly, and quarterly calibration of equipment and maintenance of calibration log sheets as directed by area supervisor and following established divisional operation procedures./liliEffectively communicate with all levels of the lab to ensure the understanding and the proper application of company policies, practices, and procedures./liliMaintain work area and common areas of department in a neat, clean, and organized condition./liliUnderstand and follow all company and laboratory policies and procedures and assure compliance with all attendance amp; safety rules and regulations. Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information./liliWillingly assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines or maintain an even workload. Cooperate with other employees and demonstrate a good attitude. Perform an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time as required./liliProvide proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees. Attends in-house or sponsored training meetings when necessary./liliPerform other duties as assigned./lili /liliThis position requires exposure to one or more hazardous substances/chemicals which requires safety training./li/ulp /ppstrongBASIC QUALIFICATIONS/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or GED/lili3+ years of laboratory work experience/liliAbility to multi-task, orient to detail and operate in a fast-paced environment./liliBasic high school level math skills required./liliAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds./liliSpecific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision and color vision/li/ulp /ppPay Range: 18.72  - 28.25 /ppThis posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
