Senior Labor Relations Business PartnerTHIS IS A REMOTE ROLE AND CAN BE BASED ANYWHERE IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF THE COUNTRYAbout the TeamSephora’s Labor Relations team is a critical enterprise function responsible for safeguarding the employee experience, protecting operational continuity, and mitigating organizational risk across retail stores, distribution centers, and corporate operations.In an increasingly complex labor landscape, the team partners cross‑functionally with HR, Employee Relations, Legal, and Operations to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate labor‑related risk while fostering a workplace culture aligned with Sephora’s values.Job SummaryThe Sr. Labor Relations Business Partner leads and advances the execution of the Company’s U.S. labor relations strategy in a rapidly evolving organizing environment. This role operates as a strategic advisor to field and enterprise leadership, identifying labor vulnerability, mitigating organizing risk, and guiding compliance with federal and multi‑state labor laws.This role has expanded beyond traditional employee relations advisory work and now includes:Leading campaign response strategy and election readinessAdvising leadership on NLRA and NLRB‑related exposureConducting labor vulnerability assessments across retail and DC locationsSupporting the design of scalable labor risk mitigation frameworksSupporting collective bargaining strategy where applicableDriving organizational awareness of labor‑related legal and reputational riskThe Sr. Labor Relations Business Partner partners closely with HRBPs, Employee Relations, Legal, and Retail/DC leadership to proactively shape employee engagement strategy and protect Sephora’s culture, brand, and operational stability.Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Labor Risk LeadershipLead execution of the U.S. labor relations strategy across retail and distribution center operationsConduct labor risk and vulnerability assessments using engagement trends, ER data, operational indicators, and external labor market signalsIdentify organizing risk and develop proactive mitigation strategies in partnership with HR, Operations, and LegalProvide executive‑level updates and recommendations regarding labor exposure, organizing activity, and risk postureTranslate federal and state labor law developments into actionable business guidanceLR Campaign & NLRB StrategyLead cross‑functional coordination during organizing campaigns, election activity, objections, or unfair labor practice proceedingsPartner with Legal on NLRB filings, hearings, and compliance strategyPrepare leaders for lawful communication and ensure adherence to NLRA requirementsSupport campaign stabilization strategies post‑election to mitigate operational and engagement disruptionEnsure documentation protocols and governance standards are followed during high‑risk labor eventsLeadership Advisory & Cross‑Functional InfluenceServe as trusted advisor to retail, DC, HR, and executive leaders on complex labor mattersAssess and communicate potential legal, financial, operational, and reputational risks associated with workplace decisionsInfluence policy and program decisions by evaluating labor relations impactGuide leaders through time‑sensitive crisis situations that require rapid, legally compliant actionSystems, Governance & Leader EnablementDesign and implement scalable labor relations playbooks, rapid response protocols, and best practice frameworksDevelop and facilitate advanced labor awareness training programs to increase leadership capability in high‑risk environmentsAudit workplace practices to ensure alignment with labor law and company valuesCreate structured reporting and trend analysis tools to monitor workforce risk indicatorsBuild cross‑functional awareness of labor relations shifts impacting the retail industryPolicy & Compliance StrategyIdentify requirements for new or revised policies based on federal and multi‑state legislative changesPartner with Legal to ensure compliance with evolving labor regulationsEnsure labor practices align with company values and workforce expectationsSupport collective bargaining strategy and contract administration where applicableWorking ConditionsWillingness to travel regularly, sometimes on short notice, to support a wide geography of retail and DC locations – up to 75%Operates in high‑ambiguity, time‑sensitive environments requiring strategic judgment and discretionQualificationsExperienceBachelor’s degree in labor relations, Human Resources, Law, or related field7–10 years progressive labor relations experience, including organizing campaign exposureStrong knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), NLRB processes, and multi‑state labor complianceExperience advising leaders in complex, high‑risk workplace mattersDemonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholdersExperience supporting collective bargaining and/or arbitration preparation preferredStrong analytical skills with ability to translate workforce data into actionable risk mitigation strategiesExcellent training, facilitation, and executive communication skillsAbility to manage multiple high‑impact initiatives in fast‑paced environmentsEducationBachelor’s degree in labor relations, Human Resources, Law, or related field preferredCompetencies and SkillsProfessionalism, diplomacy, and tact, and sensitive informationWhat You’ll Get: The annual base salary range for this position is $127,500.00 - $169,670.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
