As the Manager, Competitive Insights, you’ll lead competitive intelligence and business analytics strategies that help shape Sephora’s decision-making across Marketing, Loyalty, Promotions, and broader cross-functional business teams. The work you do will impact beauty, as you uncover market trends, analyze competitive performance, and deliver actionable insights that influence strategic business decisions at the highest levels of the organization. You’ll be part of a highly collaborative Business Intelligence & Analytics team that’s united in beauty, supported by partners who are equally passionate about data-driven storytelling, innovation, and understanding the ever-evolving beauty landscape.What You’ll Do:Lead competitive intelligence initiatives by analyzing market share, pricing trends, promotional activity, and broader beauty industry performance to provide actionable business insightsServe as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, including Marketing, Loyalty, Promotions, and Opcom stakeholders, influencing key business decisions through data-backed recommendationsTranslate complex analytics into compelling narratives and executive-ready presentations that clearly communicate risks, opportunities, and business driversMonitor the competitive beauty landscape and identify emerging trends, white space opportunities, and shifts in consumer behaviorManage and develop vendors, onsite contractors, and analytics partners, including prioritization of projects, workload management, mentorship, and professional developmentPartner cross-functionally across Analytics, Merchandising, Omnichannel, Marketing, and Loyalty teams to develop a holistic understanding of business performanceLeverage third-party market measurement tools and competitive research platforms to evaluate Sephora’s performance relative to the total beauty marketDrive innovation within analytics reporting and communications by identifying opportunities for automation, AI-enabled workflows, dashboard enhancements, and improved visual storytellingBuild scalable reporting frameworks and insights presentations that improve organizational understanding of market dynamics and competitive positioningIndependently manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environmentWhat You’ll Bring:5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, consulting, market research, or a related field with increasing levels of responsibilityExperience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders through data-driven insights and strategic recommendationsStrong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into clear and actionable business storiesExperience working with competitive intelligence, market share reporting, pricing analysis, and/or beauty industry research tools such as Nielsen, Circana/NPD, or IRIAdvanced proficiency in Excel, including modeling, forecasting, and advanced calculationsExperience with SQL or other data querying languages for data mining and analysisStrong PowerPoint and presentation development skills with the ability to communicate effectively to VP-level audiences and aboveExperience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar platformsProven ability to manage ambiguity, balance multiple priorities, and operate with a high level of autonomy and initiativeStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functionsEntrepreneurial mindset with a passion for problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvementExperience managing vendors, contractors, or direct reports is preferredBachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field preferredWhat You’ll Get: The annual base salary range for this position is $124,000.00 - $151,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses. This job will be posted for a minimum of five days. Caring Community. You’ll collaborate with teammates who are equally passionate about innovating and driving the industry forward – together, united in beauty. Fulfilling Path. Your career transformation starts here, with opportunities that will challenge, stretch and develop your skills. Meaningful Work. As you make an impact on beauty, you’ll feel and see the positive change (consumer, industry, and social) that your individual voice is a part of.  Rewards as Unique as You: Some benefits have eligibility requirements and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Health. Choose a healthcare plan to fit you and your family’s needs with medical, dental, and vision coverage. Sephora also fully covers our employees’ disability and life insurance. Wealth. We offer a competitive 401k with 4% match as well as FSA and HSA programs.
