Job Summary and Mission

This job contributes to Sephora success by working with data and business team to provide high level data science expertise and manage algorithms to support department and company business goals. Be as key player in AI solution. Manage local AI evolution and modeling initiative. Acts in accordance with Sephora guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

1.      Design, develop, and deploy ‌state-of-the-art ML models‌ (e.g., LSTM, Transformer4Rec) for real-time personalized recommendations, NLP tasks, and other business applications.

2.      Optimize model performance through ‌hyper parameter tuning, A/B testing, and offline/online evaluation‌.

3.      Implement ‌MLOps pipelines‌ (e.g., Kubeflow, MLflow, BentoML) for automated model training, evaluation, and deployment.

4.      Work with ‌large-scale datasets‌ using tools like DataWorks, ‌PySpark, NVTabular,

5.      Collaborate with data engineers to ensure ‌scalable and reliable‌ ML solutions on cloud platforms (e.g.AliCloud, Databricks,GCP‌).

6.      Partner with ‌data engineers, mobile developers, and business teams‌ to productionize ML models and drive business impact.

7.      Develop ‌explainable AI solutions‌ (e.g., LLM-based interpretability) to enhance model transparency.

Summary of Experience

1.      3+ years in ‌ML engineering/data science‌, with a track record of deploying revenue-generating models.

2.      Expertise in ‌NLP‌ (fine-tuning LLMs for NER, sentiment analysis) and ‌recommendation systems‌.

3.      Research/publication experience is a plus.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

-        ‌Bachelor’s/Master’s in ‌Computer Science, AI, or related fields‌

-        ‌Technical Proficiency: ‌

1.       Programming:‌ Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Huggingface, SQL.

2.       ‌MLOps:‌ Kubeflow, MLflow, Vertex AI, Apache Airflow, DBT.

3.       ‌Cloud Platforms:‌ AliCloud, Databricks, GCP.

-        Have a good knowledge of data application and component in China cloud like Azure or Ali.

-        Strong troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail and an ability to follow process

-        Good team working skills but equally has to be capable of working alone

-        Demonstrate strong personal and organizational communication and collaboration skills.

-        Excellent English and Mandarin communication skill, both oral and written
