Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute IT roadmap for retail stores aligned with retail business objectives. Define standards, policies, and procedures for all in-store technologies, deployment and support.
- Oversee the performance, availability, and lifecycle of all in-store systems and applications including POS (Point of Sale), inventory management, customer relationship management (CRM) and etc. Ensure system stability, data accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
- Lead the lifecycle management of retail store hardware (POS terminals, tablets, printers, scanners, CCTV, servers, desktops, kiosks, etc.), including procurement, deployment, upgrade, maintenance, replacement, and asset tracking. Implement cost-effective hardware standards and support models.
- Partner with internal business cross functional teams to understand business requirements, evaluate and recommend new technologies and deliver IT solutions that improve efficiency, sales, and customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Build, mentor, and collaborate with a team of IT professionals (onsite/remote support, IT PMs, develop teams, vendors) to deliver responsive technical support, upgrades and integrations. Define performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Establish and enforce IT service level agreements (SLAs) for store support, ensuring timely resolution of technical incidents (e.g., system outages, hardware failures, network disruptions). Minimize downtime and impact to protect sales and customer experience.
- Develop and manage the retail IT budget, including capital expenditures (hardware/software) and operational costs (support, maintenance, licensing). Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Evaluate, select, and manage third-party vendors (hardware suppliers, software providers, IT service partners) to ensure service quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to contractual obligations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 12+ years of IT experience, including 8+ years in a management role overseeing retail store IT domains (national retail environment strongly preferred).
- Deep expertise in retail in-store technologies: IT systems and applications: (e.g. POS systems, inventory management software and etc.), retail network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN), store service and store hardware lifecycle management.
- Excellent program and project management skills: ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, manage budgets, and deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Proven track record of leading distributed IT teams and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, present IT strategies to executive leadership, and train store teams on new technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in budget planning and cost optimization for IT operations.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on resolving critical technical issues in a fast-paced retail environment.
